December is upon us and I feel as though the month of November flew by. Getting back into working full time (just for my contracted 13 weeks- 9 left!) has been an adjustment. Though I'm enjoying doing Nursing again, I most definitely feel pulled in many directions and long to be able to put more of my attention and energy into being mother and wife along with getting more involved with our church. I keep telling myself that this is just a season. Bonnie has also grown accustomed to having me with her nearly every hour of the day over the past 7 months. Being away from her for three long days each week now has meant that our days together are a little off. I seem to have a very clingy little one who doesn't much like to be away from me or put down. I don't blame her but it makes our time much less productive. At least I am getting lots of Bonnie snuggles and cuddles! My sakura bloom sling has also come in handy as my beloved Ergo is starting to get uncomfortable with my growing bump (which grows much quicker the second time around might I add!).
November was a light work month for Andrew as he was in one of his less time intensive rotations. This also meant that he was able to take his first week of leave for the year. We both took the week of Thanksgiving off and drove up to Oregon. I'm so thankful we were able to see family and spend time together with those we love. It was a very full and busy week. The photos above were from a super quick stop on the side of the road as we drove to dinner one night with my family. The sun was nearly down and we caught the light just in time. Though we missed my sister and her fam, I'm glad we captured these photos!
December brings a much busier month of work for Andrew. I've certainly enjoyed the past couple of rotations that included more clinic time than inpatient time. It was good while it lasted- his night shift weeks and all! Time to put my big girl pants back on for a while...
At 18 weeks pregnant, we are nearly halfway through! We plan to find out baby's gender in 2 weeks and I can hardly wait! I am most excited and anxious to see/hear a good report of baby's growth and development. Andrew is probably most excited to find out the gender so that we can start seriously narrowing down/brainstorming names. Bonnie's name came so naturally and easily for us but we are having a far more difficult time with this one!
Bonnie's latest sweetest action has been prayer time before meals. If we happen to forget, she drops her fork/spoon/food and reaches out for both of our hands. We pray, and she says "ayyyy-mennnn" in the sweetest little voice. I look forward to hearing her pray some day and hearing all of the things she is thankful for.
At this time, I am especially thankful for loving and intact families. I am eternally grateful for my mom's help. She has such a servant's heart and constantly gives her time, love, and energy. I'm thankful for a loving husband who adores our Bonnie like none other. I can't imagine a better father than the one he is. I'm thankful for a home, a supportive community, and this adventure...
I hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving and were able to take time to ponder all that you are truly thankful for!
